SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (CBS4) - Hockey teams from 40 states and several countries will congregate in Silverthorne this President's Day weekend for an annual Pond Hockey Tournament that will funnel some proceeds to Summit County charitable organizations.

The 7th annual Pabst Blue Ribbon Colorado Pond Hockey tournament will take to the ice in Silverthorne from Feb 12-14 with 158 teams, 948 hockey players and some former NHL players, according to event organizers.

Billed as the largest such tournament west of the Mississippi, games will run through the weekend and the public is welcome to attend.

Teams come up with some irreverent names: Here 4 Beer is one. Intoxicated Fire Breathing Kittens is another and then there is the team called Lebowski Urban Achievers.

Organizers say spectators and participants can enjoy Zamboni rides, bonfires, hot tubs and a "hockey hair" contest.
