Police Ticket Man After Video Posted On Facebook

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Woodland Park ticketed a man after he posted a video on Facebook that showed him running a stop sign.

Michael Dalton recorded a video showing him driving a shortcut through an apartment complex to avoid traffic. He then posted it on Facebook.

The video was shared so many times that police took notice.

In the final seconds of the video, Dalton ran a stop sign. An officer showed up at his door a week later and issued him a ticket.

"Is this where we're at? Can they use videos from Facebook to give me a traffic violation? Can they do that to everybody?" said Dalton.

"Yes, you have a First Amendment right to post whatever you want and you can but if you're breaking the law and it's in our jurisdiction then we can do something about it," said Woodland Park Police Sgt. Andy Leibbrand.
