Police SUV Gets Stuck In Sinkhole, Sinks 15 Feet

SHERIDAN, Colo. (CBS4) - A police SUV got stuck in a sinkhole Friday morning and the officer driving the car suffered minor injuries.

The incident happened near the intersection of Santa Fe Drive and West Oxford Avenue in the south Denver metro area, right at the intersection of South Natches Court and Oxford.

Sheridan police say the officer was patrolling the area when the road collapsed. The SUV then fell about 15 feet.

The officer had to crawl onto the roof out of the hole to safety.

Santa Fe Drive remains open despite the sinkhole.
