Man Arrested After Hours-Long Standoff In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police arrested a man wanted on a felony warrant on Saturday afternoon after he barricaded himself inside and kept police at bay for hours.

The incident began around 9 a.m. in the 1300 block of Florence Street. Police said the man, wanted on a felony menacing warrant, was reported as armed and dangerous.

SWAT teams were deployed and used gas inside the residence to apprehend the man. He was hiding in the home's crawl space, police said.

Police wouldn't identify him but said it was someone they'd dealt with before. Several people did leave the apartment earlier, police said.

Police did not evacuate any nearby residents, but they told neighbors to stay indoors. There were minor street closures.
