Police: Shooting Started With Bounty Hunter Chasing Wanted Man

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police said a shooting in Fort Collins that left two people injured started with a bounty hunter chasing a wanted man.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Dunbar Avenue and Hull Street, in the Silverplume neighborhood, just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Shortly after officers arrived, two people showed up at an urgent care center with gunshot wounds. Their injuries were not life threatening.

The bounty hunter, Vonshay McCarther, told police that Rogelio and Lupe Sanchez drove towards him outside an apartment complex. That's when he shot them.

The two men left the hospital on Thursday morning without telling anyone.

No charges have been filed.

Police continue to search for Rogelio and Lupe Sanchez on their outstanding warrants.
