Boulder Missing Mom Case Transitions Into Homicide Investigation

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Boulder announced Thursday morning that they have served a warrant for the arrest of Adam Densmore.

Densmore is suspected of first degree murder.

The mother of his child, Ashley Elizabeth Mead, was last seen on Sunday but was declared missing after she didn't show up at work in Boulder on Tuesday.

Their baby girl was also declared missing but was located in Oklahoma in a Tulsa suburb on Wednesday afternoon.

The child was found with Densmore, who was not supposed to have custody of her.

Authorities said they were investigating the discovery of a body inside a dumpster at a Walmart in Okmulgee, Okla. near where Densmore was found. They said it was that of an adult woman, and that the remains didn't appear to be there for very long.

Boulder police sent two detectives to Pawnee County in Oklahoma to further investigate the case and try to determine whether the woman's body is Mead's. They say that they are waiting for authorities to provide identification. FBI agents are also involved in the investigation.

Densmore was taken into custody on a warrant alleging violation of custody. The murder warrant was served sometime afterwards.

The child was unharmed and placed in the temporary care of Child Protective Services in Oklahoma.
