Surveillance Camera Warning Does Not Deter 4 Suspects In Marijuana Dispensary Robbery

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police are searching for four armed suspects after a robbery at a medical marijuana dispensary on Sunday.

A sign visibly posted on the dispensary's door warning of surveillance cameras did not deter the suspects.

According to police, three men entered the Rino Supply Company located at 31st Avenue and Blake Street at approximately 1:45 p.m. and robbed the store. As they left fired one suspect shot into the air and then fled down an alleyway.

Police are looking for a newer Mercedes and an old Volkswagen minivan in connection with the robbery.

The 911 call came from someone who heard the gun shot but not someone inside the dispensary. Police wouldn't say how many people were inside or what exactly was taken.

Nobody was injured either during the robbery or once the shots were fired outside. It's believed employees were tied up during the robbery.

Some of the dispensary workers were visibly shaken following the robbery.

"It's not something we see a lot of. Any robbery concerns us. When it comes to a robbery that means they're using a weapon and the chance somebody can get hurt increases at that point," Sonny Jackson with Denver Police said.

While police are on the lookout for four black men, they only gave CBS4's Jeff Todd a description for two of them. One was wearing either a pink or purple dress shirt. The other was wearing a Pittsburgh Stealers hat.

It's not clear if the employees were tied up of the the dispensary has video surveillance.
