Police Search For Bank Robber Who Assaulted Officer While Escaping

DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver would like the public's help identifying a suspect in a bank robbery who also assaulted a police officer.

According to police, last Wednesday a man entered the US Bank located at 6333 East Colfax Avenue and simulated that he had a gun in his pocket and demanded money.

"The suspect received the money and then attempted to flee from the bank but was confronted by a police officer whom the suspect assaulted before escaping," police said in a statement.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and 200 to 210 pounds.
