Police Release ID Of Man Shot & Killed In Five Points

DENVER (CBS4) - The identity of a man who was killed after an early morning shooting in Five Points has been released.

Derick Wilford, 36, was shot at approximately 2:15 a.m. Wednesday and now police are searching for a possible motive to find a suspect.

Neighbors called police to report hearing multiple shots. When officers arrived they found Wilford beside a street light at 22nd and Stout streets suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and pronounced dead.

A spokesman said detectives on Wednesday were getting conflicting information about a suspect.
