Police Officer Injured, Suspect Killed On Western Slope

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Grand Junction authorities say an officer who believed a suspect's vehicle was used in a prior weapons violation is recovering after he was pinned in his vehicle during a confrontation that left a suspect dead.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, police say the officer was responding to a report of something suspicious when he suddenly asked for emergency backup. The backup officers found the officer pinned between a vehicle and a building, and the suspect was dead.

The department says a team from several agencies is investigating.
