According to police, 22 trees worth $1,000 apiece were cut down in the park. Some of the tree trunks were stuffed in a nearby portable toilet.

Police call it a pure vandalism.

"We haven't seen this before in Parker. I haven't heard of any case like this where somebody would just go along in a park that's used by thousands of people each year and just randomly cut down 22 trees," Officer Dawn Cashman with Parker police said.

The trees were planted within the last three months.
