Students described a scary situation.

"I was in my room retaking a math quiz and a couple of kids just walked out and they came running back in, screaming and they said the security guards told them to run back in right away," said East High School student Max Kelley.

Police continued to search inside the school for the next hour.

Kelley said everyone followed the active shooter scenario they had practiced at school.

"So we did our procedure, we blocked the door and crowded against the wall, then our teacher was able to open the window because we are on the first floor and we were able to just get out and we walked over here so now... we've been here since and there a lot of cops came," said Kelley.
