Police did not clarify whether it was a student or another person who may have brought the gun to the school.
Copter4 flew over the school where there was a large police presence.
Students described a scary situation.
"I was in my room retaking a math quiz and a couple of kids just walked out and they came running back in, screaming and they said the security guards told them to run back in right away," said East High School student Max Kelley.

Kelley said everyone followed the active shooter scenario they had practiced at school.
"So we did our procedure, we blocked the door and crowded against the wall, then our teacher was able to open the window because we are on the first floor and we were able to just get out and we walked over here so now... we've been here since and there a lot of cops came," said Kelley.
Officers tweeted they were taking the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe.
