Police Investigate Second Homicide In Same Apartment

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police responded to a homicide at the 1400 block of Lima Street, just south of East Colfax Avenue, early Tuesday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., a 55-year-old black man was stabbed to death in an apartment. A perimeter was set up around the scene by 5 a.m.

Police said they aren't actively looking for a suspect but were interviewing about a dozen people who were involved or were witnesses.

It's the third time since November 2013 police have investigated murders at the apartments at 14th and Lima. The apartments were the site of a double homicide in 2013. Denver police later arrested the suspect.

A spokeswoman also said they responded to a homicide in the same exact apartment back in September of 2014. Danielle Griego, 24, was shot to death inside the apartment. A man suffering a drug overdose was also found inside, and was later arrested for homicide.

It is unclear if the two incidents are related or if the families are connected, but police are working to learn more. They said there is no danger to public.

Police haven't released the name of the man killed Tuesday morning.
