Police Arrest Woman Accused Of Hitting, Killing Pedestrian In Fountain

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) - Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian with a stolen car in a Walmart parking lot in Fountain.

Officers were called to the parking lot Monday morning and found a 67-year-old woman injured in a crosswalk in front of the store. The victim, whose name has not been released, died at a hospital.

Investigators say the driver, Rebecca J. Champigny, crashed into a parked car after hitting the pedestrian. She was arrested on charges including vehicular homicide and motor vehicle theft.

Booking documents do not indicate if she has hired an attorney.
