Police: 4th Murder Suspect Arrested In Taco Bell Shooting

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora have arrested a fourth suspect wanted in connection with the deadly shooting of a teenager in a Taco Bell parking lot last summer.

Police say Mark Chafant, 19, died from gunshot wounds after a marijuana sale went awry on June 4, 2014 at the restaurant in the 3500 block of South Tower Road.

Police arrested Calvin Banks, 18, Sterling Hook, 17, and Vincent Rucker, 16, on first-degree murder charges just a few weeks after the shooting. A fourth suspect remained on the run until Thursday afternoon when investigators with the Aurora Fugitive Team and Denver Police arrested a 15-year-old male.

An arrest affidavit states Chafant attempted to sell marijuana to the teens. The arrest affidavit says they had a "plan of 'doing a lick' (street term for robbery) of the person's weed and running away with it." Chafant negotiated to sell the pot for $180 to the trio, the affidavit said.

Witnesses said shots were fired in the parking lot after a fight had broken out. Police found a gun and bag of marijuana in Chafant's car. A witness told police he saw Hook pick up a revolver and throw it through the car's windows.

Because the fourth suspect is a juvenile, information regarding his arrest has been sealed.
