Police: 2 Armed Women Carjack Man, Lead Officers On Chase

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - Two women were arrested Tuesday morning after police said they carjacked an SUV owner, led police on a chase in the north Denver metro area and then caused a crash.

The arrests followed an hour-long standoff just west of Interstate 25 in Thornton.

The carjacking took place at 2:30 a.m. at East 60th Avenue and Holly Street, according to Commerce City police. A man said the two women had a gun and demanded he give them his SUV.

After the SUV was stolen, officers spotted it on Interstate 25 and tried to get the driver to pull over. The SUV didn't comply and the chase began.
