Planned Parenthood Shooter Found Not Competent

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- The latest report from the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo has found the Planned Parenthood shooter is not competent to proceed.

Dear has been undergoing treatment at the state mental hospital since Judge Gilbert Martinez deemed him incompetent in May.

He is charged with 179 counts, including murder and attempted murder, stemming from the Nov. 27 shooting at the Colorado Springs clinic that left three dead and nine injured.

He was deemed incompetent after two psychologists testified he has a delusion disorder, which they said keeps him from trusting almost anyone.

Doctors have been ordered to give the judge periodic updates on Dear's progress.

Dear told investigators he attacked the Planned Parenthood clinic because of his anti-abortion stance.

The court will have its next competency review in November.
