Experimental Plane Crash Kills 1

BUENA VISTA, Colo. (CBS4)- An experimental aircraft crashed near Buena Vista on Monday afternoon and killed the pilot.

The plane crashed near County Road 3564 just north Buena Vista and caught fire once it hit the ground.

The Chaffee County Sheriff confirmed the fatality.

The FAA and NTSB will investigate.

What happened leading up to the crash is unknown. Where the plane was headed has also not been determined.
