Pine Creek Captures 4A Football Title In 45-20 Win Over Longmont

DENVER (CBS4) - Pine Creek scored 31 first-half points and shut down Longmont while rolling to a 45-20 victory in the Colorado 4A high school football championship on Saturday.

Pine Creek finished its season 14-0. Longmont fell to 10-4.

Longmont scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but after Pine Creek notched 10 points in the first quarter, the victory seemed never in doubt. Ryan Carlos scored the Eagles' first touchdown on an 8-yard run, and Josh Odom added another on a 26-yard rush to put Pine Creek up 17-0. The Eagles added two more touchdowns -- one on a Tommy Lazzaro-to-Jojo Domann 20-yard strike and another on a defensive score -- to go up 31-0 at the half.

The Eagles scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter before Longmont avoided a shutout with a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the quarter.
