Pilot Killed In Highlands Ranch Plane Crash Identified

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) – The identity of a pilot who died in an experimental plane crash in Highlands Ranch has been released.

The pilot has been identified as James Peoples, 60, of Littleton.

The plane went down in an empty field near Lucent Boulevard and C-470 on Saturday. The pilot was in contact with the tower at Centennial Airport just minutes before the crash.

He was flying an experimental plane.

Investigators say it could be weeks before they know what caused the crash.
