Suspect arrested, accused in deadly shooting near Denver metro area

Person of interest found after deadly shooting in Parker

Parker police have arrested a suspect they believe is responsible for a deadly shooting in Parker, according to detectives. Police said they arrested Matthew Littlefield, 27, within just hours of the homicide. 

The shooting happened near South Twenty Mile Road and East Longs Way about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said witnesses told officers that two cars were stopped next to each other when an argument broke out, and that's when multiple gunshots were heard.

Investigators said one car sped away. Officers said they arrived within three minutes and that's when they found one man dead near his car with gunshot wounds. According to Parker police, investigators used Flock technology and witness descriptions to learn the license plate number of the vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting. 

The deceased has not been identified. 

Police said they recommended the charge of second-degree murder for Littlefield in connection with the homicide.
