Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle In Lone Tree

LONE TREE, Colo. (CBS4) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck vehicle while crossing a road Friday night in Lone Tree.

According to police, at approximately 10:11 pm officers responded to Lincoln Avenue and Oswego Street on a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

"Upon further investigation it was determined that a 52-year-old male was walking northbound in the crosswalk at Oswego Street when he was struck by traffic in the westbound lanes of Lincoln Avenue," Sgt. Ryan Gallegos with Lone Tree police said in a statement.

The man, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to Littleton Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Gallegos said the driver has been cooperating with police. It's not clear if alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
