Pat Bowlen Misses Out On Hall Of Fame

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The Pro Football Hall of Fame voted today on finalists for the Contributor category. Broncos owner Pat Bowlen was among those who was considered, but he was not chosen.

A Contributor is "defined as an individual who has 'made outstanding contributions to professional football in capacities other than playing or coaching,'" according to the Hall of Fame's website.

The Contributors are voted on independently of all other candidates.

So who are the Contributor finalists? Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

Since Bowlen purchased the Broncos in 1984, they've won three Super Bowls.

In 2015, he was inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame.
