Park County Deputy Shot During Eviction Upgraded To Fair Condition

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- The Park County Sheriff's deputy who was shot on Wednesday continues to improve. Park County Master Patrol Deputy Kolby Martin's condition has been upgraded to fair.

Martin was wounded in the shooting that killed Park County Sheriff Cpl. Nate Carrigan while they were serving an eviction notice to Martin Wirth in Bailey. Capt. Mark Hancock was also wounded but expected to recover.

Wirth had a rifle when the deputies arrived and started shooting. He was shot and killed during the shootout.

Martin and his family thanked the public for their prayers and expressions of support.
