Owner Of Horses Found Dead & Malnourished In Black Forest Faces Charges

BLACK FOREST, Colo. (CBs4) – The owner of dead and malnourished horses found in a barn in Black Forest last Friday will face animal cruelty charges.

The Colorado Humane Society removed the surviving horses, that were said to be living in feces more than a foot deep, from the barn.

The owner of the horses, Sherri Brunzell, will be charged with extreme animal cruelty.

The animals were discovered by a woman renting a nearby property.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the animals' deaths.
