Officers Shoot Man Reportedly Chasing People With Gun
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - An officer-involved shooting in Lakewood Sunday night ended with the shooting of an armed man.
At 10:15 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department began receiving calls of a man with a gun at the Windsor Apartment complex, in the 8100 block of West Eastman Place.
The original caller said they were chased by the male with a gun when leaving the party.
Officers arrived on scene and searched for the man. He was located inside an apartment with a gun, and refused to come out. Agents began negotiating and asked the man to come out without the gun. He came out of the unit with the weapon and was shot.
The man was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There were no other injuries to officers or civilians.
Police remained on scene through Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing and no names have been released.
