Westminster Police Shoot Man With Gun During SWAT Operation

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Westminster shot and injured a man with a gun inside a home on Wednesday morning. Westminster police say a SWAT team was serving a search warrant about 5:45 a.m. when the confrontation happened.
The shooting happened on Hooker Street between 71st Avenue and 72nd Avenue when the man pointed a gun at officers. That's when officers returned fire, striking the suspect.
Hooker Street is expected to remain closed between 71st and 72nd for most of the morning.

The suspect was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition. No officers were hurt.
