At 5:09 p.m., officers were making a traffic stop at South Buckley Road and East Exposition Avenue for a vehicle that reportedly had a wanted person on board.

When the officer approached the driver, the vehicle drove off, dragging the officer approximately 20 yards.

The officer sustained injuries to his head, leg, and food. He was taken to the hospital for the non-life threatening injuries, and was released just before 10 p.m.

The wanted person, who was a passenger in the car, was located later that night and taken into custody.

A vehicle believed to be involved was found in the 16700 block of East Tennessee Avenue. The driver is now wanted, a suspect identified as a black male in his early 20s. The investigation is ongoing.
