Obama Coming To Colorado For Udall Fundraiser, Appearance At Cheesman Park

DENVER (AP/CBS4) - President Barack Obama is traveling to Colorado this week to raise money for Sen. Mark Udall's re-election campaign.

The president is scheduled to arrive in Denver Tuesday evening and attend the fundraiser on Wednesday. Obama and Udall won't be campaigning in public but Udall spokesman Chris Harris told The Denver Post that he would "welcome" the chance to appear with Obama.

Udall's race against Republican congressman Cory Gardner is one of the most competitive Senate races in the country. Gardner has hammered Udall's support for Obama's health care law.

On Monday the White House announced the president will deliver remarks on the economy at Cheesman Park mid-morning on Wednesday, but it's closed to the public.
