North Dakota Beats Colorado College 3-2 For Sweep

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Connor Gaarder scored the game-winning goal with 1:22 to play as top-ranked North Dakota beat Colorado College 3-2 Saturday to sweep their National Collegiate Hockey Conference quarterfinal series.

Gaarder took a feed from Austin Poganski on a rush to the net and redirected the puck in to end the best-of-three series. UND (27-7-3) beat the Tigers 5-1 on Friday.

Jordan Schmaltz and Brendan O'Donnell also scored goals for UND, which advances to the Frozen Four.

Goalie Zane McIntyre made 31 saves to win his 27th game of the season.

Colorado College (6-26-3) led 1-0 after Teemu Kivihalme's goal at 15:23 of the first period. Luc Gerdes tied it for the Tigers at 6:10 of the third.

Colorado College goalie Tyler Marble made 28 saves.
