Nobody Injured After Explosion, House Fire At Home In Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Nobody was injured after an explosion and house fire in Douglas County on Saturday.

According to Chief Jarrod Lamb with the Jackson 105 Fire Protection District, neighbors heard a loud explosion and then saw fire at the home located in the 2400 block of West Wolfensberger Road Saturday night.

Crews arrived on scene about 6 or 7 minutes after call to find half the house fully involved. The woman who lives in the home was out of the house.

It took more than two hours for crews to get the fire under control because there were no fire hydrants in the area and water had to be shuttled in.

The cause of the fire isn't known but the preliminary investigation revealed it may have started after an accident in the basement.

Family and friends on Sunday were helping the woman salvage possessions.
