Nicotine Device Bill Advances In Colorado

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado House has voted to expand the definition of tobacco products that are off-limits to minors.

The unrecorded voice vote Thursday sets up a more formal vote later. The measure has already been approved by the Senate

Colorado already bans electronic cigarettes for minors, though Democratic sponsors say the law needs further clarification to ban any nicotine-delivery device. Lawmakers say they fear that current tobacco law doesn't adequately keep nicotine out of the hands of kids.

The bill doesn't address the age of buying tobacco, which was rejected Wednesday by a House committee.
