New Pedestrian Bridge 'Bridging The Gap' Over I-25

DENVER (CBS4)- A new pedestrian bridge over Interstate 25 opened on Tuesday to bicyclists and pedestrians. It's being celebrated as "Bridging the Gap" over I-25.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was among other city leaders to cut a ribbon to mark the opening of the Colorado Center Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge near I-25 and Evans Avenue.

The bridge gives cyclists and pedestrians an improved and safer connection over the interchange between the Colorado Center RTD light rail station and those neighborhoods.

"It is an asset to the critical need for pedestrians and bicyclists to safety and conveniently cross I-25. Years from now young people and pedestrians and bicyclists alike will wonder, 'Who are the bright people who imagined us getting across the highway?'" said Hancock.
