New Boss Wants To Keep State Fair In Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4)- The future of the Colorado State Fair may not be changing. The new boss wants to keep the fair in Pueblo.

Some state lawmakers had discussed the possibility of moving the State Fair out of Pueblo and into a more populous area of Colorado if it wanted to stay profitable.

Sarah Cummings began her position as the general manager of the State Fair on Wednesday. She believes the grounds in Pueblo are perfect for the fair.

"It seems to me that the Colorado State Fair has a great fit here in Pueblo and the community seems to really love and appreciate the fairgrounds. So to me, it seems like a solid answer to keep it here in Pueblo," said Cummings.

She said if petitions to move the fairgrounds gained momentum she would need to conduct a lot of research before making a final decision.
