New Bill Would Change Rules Of The Road For Cyclists

DENVER (CBS4) - A new bill would make it legal for cyclists to treat stop signs like yield signs.

It won approval in the Senate, and now moves to the House.

That bill would also allow cyclists to treat red lights light stop signs, allowing them to go if it's safe.

The bill's sponsor is a cyclist and argues it will make people safer.

He cites a study that found cycling-related injuries in Idaho dropped 14% the year after the law went into effect.
