Neighbors File Injunction To Stop C-470 Expansion

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) - A neighborhood coalition in Highlands Ranch has filed an injunction to stop the expansion of C-470.

On Friday, a federal judge agreed to hear those arguments at a later date.

The neighbors major complaint is noise. They say the environmental impact study underestimated the noise levels of adding more traffic lanes.

CDOT had originally planned to put up barriers along the lane expansion area, but said new noise level tests showed the barriers -- which would cost millions of dollars -- would not be effective.

The hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 22.
