Neighbor Gets Shot Trying To Stop Thief

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who tried to stop a suspect from stealing from a car was shot and wounded overnight.
The man heard loud noises and came outside to see the person trying to steal items or possibly parts from his neighbor's car. Police said the person then fired shots and injured the man at 12:48 a.m. Friday and drove off in a different vehicle after that.
The incident happened on South Cody Street near the intersection with West Center Avenue, just west of Belmar Park.
The victim was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
So far there's no description of the suspect or the vehicle believed to be stolen from Denver.
