DENVER (CBS4) - After a fairly cloudy and cool stretch of days the weekend ahead will feature a gradual warm up along with a lot more sunshine statewide.

There could be a few pesky afternoon showers or storms scattered about on Saturday but they should be few and far between.

Overall get ready for a nearly perfect weekend to take a drive and see the fall color show.

There's already a fair amount of color in elevations between 8,500 and 9,000 feet with near peak conditions developing in a few places along and north of I-70 near timberline.
