DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Museum of Nature and Science revealed a new bronze sculpture of a snow mastodon on Thursday.

Kent Ullberg created the statue to commemorate the Ice Age find near Snowmass Village. He worked on the statue for two years and was aided by scientists.

""Measuring bones, looking at muscle attachment, looking at proportions, trying to reconstruct a Colorado native who died 120,000 years ago," Ullberg said. "A bit like art by committee."

The sculpture will be the centerpiece of a celebration of that historic discovery in Colorado's high country.
