Railroad Museum Will Close After Rent Hike

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A well-loved railroad museum in Glenwood Springs will close for good next week.

Union Pacific, the Glenwood Railroad Museum's landlord, decided to raise rent by almost $30,000 a year.

The museum can't afford the new rate.

It will close Monday, Nov. 27.

Earlier this month, voters in Garfield County rejected a ballot measure that would have increased property taxes to fund the local historical district. There was some thought that might have saved the museum.
