Ms. Puppy Pleads Guilty To Murder Of 2 Denver Men
DENVER (CBS4)- A man accused of murdering two men in their Denver home and then stealing their identities has pleaded guilty to the crimes.
Daryl Rasmussen, who also goes by Ms. Puppy, was a caregiver and housekeeper for the two victims, 63-year-old Ronald Ford and 56-year-old Ramiro Sanchez.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in their deaths and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Their bodies were found in January 2011 in their home in the 100 block of Stuart Street. They had been bludgeoned to death.
Police say Rasmussen then stole the victims' car, identities and money.
The sisters of the victims spoke in court saying that society is better off with Rasmussen in prison.
Prosecutors said that the 30-year sentence isn't harsh enough but hopefully the sentence will give some sense of closure to the victims' families.
"He betrayed that by taking their lives and taking their money. That's the sad part about this is that these were two men who really gave a lot their entire lives. In fact, speaking with the families that's what they talked about is that they were always giving, always giving to the family, always giving to the community and unfortunately their gratuity got them killed," said prosecutor Joe Morales.
