Mountain Snow Possible In Colorado By Weekend

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - If you're hoping to see a little snow on some of Colorado's highest peaks then you might get your wish by this weekend.

A new storm system developing over the Pacific Northwest is forecast to drop into the Great Basin by Thursday and Friday.

In addition, a cold front is also expected to move through Colorado by late week, bringing the chance for rain showers to lower elevations and maybe even some snow up high.

As of this posting it looks like the northwest mountains will have the best chance to see accumulating snow sometime between Friday and Saturday in elevations above 9,000 feet.

Stay with CBS4 and Colorado's Weather Center in the days ahead as this forecast will undoubtedly change as this weather system takes shape.
