Mt. Evans Road To Close For Season This Week

IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - The final stretch from Summit Lake to the top of Mount Evans will close for the season soon.
Heavy snow kept the road closer later than usual earlier this season, with 40-foot-tall drifts.
Crews didn't get Mount Evans Road cleared until June 8, which is well after the usual opening for Memorial Day weekend.
On Tuesday, it will close again for the winter season.
The rest of the road will remain open, though, until Oct. 2 - weather permitting.
