Motorcyclist Killed In Collision With Car In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and car Sunday evening.

According to Lt. Michael McClelland, officers responded to a report of a crash in the area of East Iliff Avenue and South Blackhawk Street at approximately 5 p.m.

"Upon arrival it was determined from witnesses that a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on East Iliff Avenue at a high rate of speed," McClelland said in a statement.

McClelland said the motorcycle collided with a car driven by an adult woman with three passengers making a left turn onto Blackhawk.

"The motorcycle impacted the right passenger side of the sedan, projecting the driver of the motorcycle onto the street," McClelland said.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. All of the car's occupants were taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

No names have been released. It's not clear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
