More Than 1,200 Meals Served At Dinner In MLK's Honor

DENVER (CBS4) - Meals were served Monday at the 13th annual Dinner For Those Who Hunger in commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Denver.

More than 1,200 meals were handed out Monday evening along with warm clothes for the less fortunate.

"This event epitomizes Dr. King's belief that we are all one family and that as a family we should come together in fellowship and eat from the same table," Volunteers of America said in a statement.

Meals consisted of ribs, green beans, potatoes and dessert. Live jazz, blues and gospel music was also provided for entertainment.
