More Murder Charges Filed In Routt County Missing Man Case

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The Routt County District Attorney's Office has filed murder charges against a woman accused of participating in killing longtime Routt County resident Edward Zimmerman.

Kristen Johnson is charged with first-degree murder during a burglary, theft and possession of marijuana.

Prosecutors say her husband, Lucas Johnson, broke into Zimmerman's home and stole Zimmerman's marijuana worth up to $20,000.

Lucas Johnson is charged with murder and possession with intent to manufacture or distribute more than 50 pounds of marijuana or marijuana concentrate.

Authorities say Zimmerman was shot in the face, strangled and beaten.

Zimmerman was reported missing Feb. 28 after he did not show up for work the two previous days.
