Money Raised At Tour De Cure Colorado Stays In The State

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4) - Hundreds of cyclists hit the road in Parker on Saturday with a special mission.

The annual Tour de Cure featured four bicycle routes including a century ride.

Money raised during the event will fund diabetes education and research.

"This event is the biggest fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association here in Colorado," Deana Lehman with Tour de Cure Colorado said. "All the money raised stays in Colorado. We're funding 17 Colorado-based diabetes researchers."

Organizers were hoping to raise nearly $2 million for the cause.

CBS4 is a proud sponsor.
