Missing Man's Body Found In Longs Peak Area

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - The body of a missing man from Fort Collins has been located in the Longs Peak area in Rocky Mountain National Park.

According to Kyle Patterson with the Rocky Mountain National Park, rangers were contacted about the missing 24-year-old man Tuesday morning.

"The man had left at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday … from Fort Collins. He was expected at work at 4 p.m. yesterday," Patterson said in a statement. "An investigation revealed he likely planned to travel along the Keyhole Route."

Patterson said rangers found the man's body at approximately 1,000 feet below the Keyhole Route down the trough at about 3:30 p.m.

Weather prevented recovery efforts on Tuesday and they will resume when weather and conditions allow.

The man's name hasn't been released.
