MillerCoors To Open 2nd Small Blue Moon Brewery In Denver

DENVER (AP) — MillerCoors is building a second small brewery in Denver for its Blue Moon Belgian-style wheat beer.

The company said Monday the brewery in Denver's River North arts district will develop and test new Blue Moon recipes. It will also have a tasting room and outdoor space for events.

It's expected to open in 2016. Blue Moon's SandLot brewery inside Coors Field will continue to operate.

MillerCoors says the new facility will brew up to 10,000 barrels a year. Most Blue Moon is produced at the Coors brewery in Golden, west of Denver.

MillerCoors launched Blue Moon in 1995 under brewmaster Keith Villa.
