'Mile High Mike' Alvarado Back For More Against Juan Manual Marquez

DENVER (CBS4) - The last time Denver's Mike Alvarado fought he could not answer the bell against Russian slugger Ruslan Provodnikov. Eight months later he's back for more.

"Mile High Mike" will fight 40-year-old Juan Manual Marquez this Saturday night at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Alvarado said he didn't train properly for the Provodnikov fight and it really humbled him.

He'll have his hands full against Marquez, who knocked out Manny Pacquiao.

"I'm here to redeem myself and put on a better show and perform at a higher level," Alvarado said. "This is where I belong and I'm going to prove that, I'm going to show that this weekend."

The fight airs live on HBO this Saturday with a fight time of 8:15 p.m.
